Help & frequently asked questions
Everything you need to set up your profile and start sharing it. If your question isn’t answered here, email us and a person will reply.
Getting started
The first few minutes.
How do I get to my profile to edit it?
- Go to www.mydigitalprofile.co.za/vcard/frontend/web/admin
- Enter the email address and password you signed up with
- You land straight on your Edit Profile page
Bookmark that page — it is where you change everything.
I’ve forgotten my password
On the sign-in page, click Forgot your password? and follow the instructions. If you get stuck, email info@stormmedia.co.za and we’ll sort it out.
My card says “not live yet”. What does that mean?
Your profile has been created but not paid for yet, so nobody else can see it. You can set everything up first and preview it. When you’re happy, click Go live on your Edit Profile page and it goes live the moment your payment clears.
Do I have to finish everything in one go?
No. Everything saves when you press Save changes — the bar at the bottom of your screen — and you can come back and change it as often as you like.
Your details
What goes on your card, and how to change it.
How do I add my photo or company logo?
On your Edit Profile page, go to box 2, Your photo and banner, and click to choose a file. A window opens where you can drag and zoom to frame it — the circle shows exactly what people will see. Click Use this picture, then Save changes.
What works best: a clear head-and-shoulders photo of you, or your company logo. Any normal phone photo is fine — it is made smaller for you. A photo starts out filling the circle; for a logo, tap Show the whole image so nothing is cut off.
Picture already up but looking small or badly cropped? Click Reposition the current picture under the upload button to fix it without uploading it again.
Can I add more than one phone number or email address?
Yes. Under Phone Numbers or Email Addresses, click Add and fill in the new row. Give each one a label like Work, Cell or Home so people know which is which. Tick On WhatsApp next to any number that has WhatsApp, and a WhatsApp button appears next to it on your profile.
How do I add my social media links?
Under Social Links, choose the platform from the dropdown and paste the address of your page. Leave a row blank and it simply won’t show.
Can I list my services or products?
Yes. On your Edit Profile page, go to Services and products and press Add a service or product. Give each one a name, and if you like a short line (“From R2 a page”) and a link to a price list, product page or booking page. They show on your card as a list people can tap, up to 12. You can also show them in your email signature.
Can I write a few lines about myself or my business?
Yes — use the About / Bio field in box 1, Your details. Press Enter to start a new line and it will appear as a new line on your profile.
Do I have to fill in everything?
No. Anything you leave blank simply doesn’t appear. Show only what you want people to have.
I changed my details. Do I need to tell people again?
No, and this is the point of a digital card. Your link and QR code never change, so everyone who already has your card sees your new details automatically — including anyone holding one of your printed cards.
Sharing your card
Getting it in front of people.
How do I share my card?
On your Edit Profile page, press Share my profile at the top. It takes you to your personal link and a Copy link button. Paste that link into WhatsApp, an email, a text message, your email signature — anywhere. It opens on any phone or computer.
How do I put my card in my email signature?
Sign in and tap Email signature in the menu (or Create my email signature on your Edit Profile page). Choose a design and what to show, press Copy signature, and paste it into your email’s signature settings — the page shows you exactly where for Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, iPhone and Android. Every email you send then carries your details and a button to your card. The design with your realistic card picture is part of Pro.
Does the person I send it to need an app?
No. Your profile is an ordinary web page. It opens in whatever browser they already have, and they can save your details to their phone with one press.
When I share my link on WhatsApp, will it look good?
Yes. A picture of your business card appears with the link, showing your name, company and contact details. To see yours, press View my realistic card at the top of your Edit Profile page. You can turn it off under Your realistic card if you’d rather send a plain link.
How do people save my details to their phone?
They tap Save contact on your profile. Your name, numbers, email and website go straight into their contacts — no typing, so no mistakes.
What is a tap (NFC) card and do I need one?
It’s a physical card with a chip inside. Hold it against the back of someone’s phone and your profile opens on their screen. You don’t need one — your link and QR code work on their own — but it makes a strong impression in person. Storm Media makes them in plastic, wood, bamboo and metal: see the range.
Your QR code
One code, endless places to put it.
Where do I find my QR code?
On your Edit Profile page, in the Share your profile box. Click Download to save it as a picture, or Open to view it full size. It’s also attached to your welcome email.
Where can I use it?
- In your email signature
- On flyers, brochures and printed business cards
- On shop signage, window decals and banners
- On a desk stand at reception, your counter or a trade stand
- On vehicle branding, name badges and lanyards
- Anywhere else someone might want your details
If I change my details, do I need a new QR code?
No, and this matters if you’ve had it printed. Your QR code always points at your profile, so it keeps working no matter how often you change what’s on it.
How do people scan it?
On almost every modern phone they simply open the camera and point it at the code — a link pops up to tap. No scanning app needed.
Account & billing
What it costs and how it works.
What does it cost?
A myCARD digital business card is R450 + VAT once off (R517.50 including VAT). That buys your profile, link, QR code and the Modern design for life, with unlimited changes, plus 14 days of Pro free. If you bought a physical NFC card from Storm Media, your profile is included.
What is myCARD Pro, and do I need it?
You don’t need it — your card works fully without it. Pro is an optional extra at R450 + VAT a year that adds: contact exchange (people who view your card can send you their details, and they land in your contact list), statistics on how often your card is tapped, scanned and shared, which of your links people use, and a downloadable picture of your card with your own background photo. Every new card gets Pro free for its first 14 days.
I have an older myCARD. How do I get the new look?
Sign in and you can preview your own card in the Modern design. Upgrading is R129 + VAT once off and the new look is yours for life — or take Pro, which includes it.
What are the statistics?
Statistics are part of Pro. They show how many times your card has been tapped, your QR code scanned and your profile shared — by day, week, month and year. You’ll find them at the top of your Edit Profile page.
How do I change my password?
On your Edit Profile page, in the Your login box at the very bottom, type a new password and press Save changes. If we emailed your password to you when you started, please change it and delete that email.
Can I change the email address I log in with?
That one is locked, to keep your account secure. Email info@stormmedia.co.za and we’ll change it for you.
What is contact exchange?
It turns your card into a two-way exchange. On a Pro card, people who open your profile see a Share your details with button with your name on it. They fill in their name, number or email (and their company, job title or a message if they like), tick that they agree, and press Send. You get an email straight away with their contact card attached — open it on your phone to save them in one tap — and they appear under Contacts shared with you on your Edit page, where you can save, mark as followed up, delete, or download them all as a spreadsheet. Straight after sending, they are offered your contact too, so you both have each other’s details.
What happens to the details people share with me?
They go only to you. myCARD keeps them in your account until you delete them, never sells or shares them, and only collects them after the person has ticked that they agree. Please use them only to stay in touch with that person. If your Pro ends, the button comes off your profile, but the contacts you already have stay yours.
Can I get Pro straight away, with my card?
Yes. When you go live, choose myCARD + Pro: R900 + VAT (R1 035 incl. VAT) for your card and a year of Pro in one payment. Your 14 free days come first and the paid Pro year starts when they end, so you don’t lose them.
How do I renew Pro?
You don’t need to remember: we email you a month, a week and a day before your Pro year ends. Each email has a Renew Pro button that takes you straight to secure payment — one click, no login needed. Renewing early never loses a day: your new year starts when the current one ends. You can also renew any time from your card’s Edit page.
What happens if I don’t renew Pro?
Your card stays live and keeps working exactly as it does. Only the Pro extras stop — contact exchange and your statistics. Nothing is deleted, and you can switch Pro back on any time.
I paid but my card still says it isn’t live
Give it a few minutes and refresh the page — payments usually confirm quickly. If it hasn’t changed after that, email info@stormmedia.co.za with the name you paid under and we’ll activate it straight away. You will not be charged twice.
Still stuck?
Email us and a real person will help. Please include your name and card number if you have it.
